L O V E | A F T E R | L O V E
when, with elation,
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror,
and each will smile at the other's welcome,
and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you
all your life, whom you ignored
for another, who knows you by heart.
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,
the photographs, the desperate notes,
peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your life.

Recently- well my whole life I've always adored English but foremost writing and how many forms/ ways in which it can be used. My favourite use of writing is poetry, and it has come to my attention that although I love it... I do not read enough of it. Therefore, I have made it my mission to start reading more poetry- I do write poems here and there which give me great pleasure but never have I owned an actual book dedicated to poetry apart from an amateur copy from my primary school but at last poetry is still art. And art can be interpreted in a number of ways, and liked/ disliked by a number of people it's just you as a person to see which appeals to you most and well me? It's always been through writing and poetry- not to say that I do not appreciate other forms of art but writing and poetry have been my backbone from a very young age. Whether it be through writing down my thoughts or even being utterly and totally consumed within a book. Above you will find one of my favourite poems, and a new instalment within this blog which I will start/ post every week 'Poem of the day' yaaaaay. Hopefully I don't forget but I won't (iA) and everything will be fine and dandy.
I hope you enjoyed this blogpost, sorry for such a long wait/ hassle.
As always, peace & love
