Let me just allow this to sink in, (and whenever you're ready to read on please do.)

.
A female, the age of 31 was murdered on her way to University with no committed crime, who had done nothing wrong was killed.
Why?
Because of her religious clothing.
Because she for the sake of her god and her religion chose to wear an abaya (the robe covering the whole body) and a hijab (head scarf)
- Now I wear both these things, so hearing this has not only shocked me but it has really shaken me to the core. As I write this there are actual tears forming in my eyes. I am so amazed by the lack of acceptance that our generation still has not attained. It's the 21st century and yet we still commit hate crimes against one another- we still find petty reasons to attack one another. We still go out of our way to make each others lives a living hell whether it be through war, bullying, killing, framing. The list is endless. However, the main thing that has shocked me most of all is the lack of media attention this story has gathered. I'm not in any way or form being biased but it is true when I state that if a so called 'Muslim' is attacking others reporters/ broadcasters will take no less than a nano-second to inform the whole world yet when turned it seems as though they don't even want to turn an eye. And it is really disheartening to acknowledge this. I really wonder, not just about the media but for our generation as a whole how we can just allow people like Nahid and their story to go on and forgotten about so quickly. It honestly aches my heart and I just hope you can spread the news about this woman as well as take it as an opportunity to inform and teach others.
